Young Children have the ability to create, interpret and
appreciate art. Through art, kids learn how to view their world
in different ways; and they learn how to express feelings,
confidence and imagination.
Sketch-a-roo is a vibrant, creative environment for making
and discovering art. We will introduce your child to the wonders
of art and help them explore their already awakened interest.
We will look at and make all types of art. We will start each
class with a short lesson or concept, provide some guidance,
quality materials and let their imagination take them on a
journey. We emphasize that the PROCESS is just as important
as the product they have created. They will succeed every time
and be amazed by what they can create. It's like reading or
playing sports, it creates a sense of accomplishment and self
esteem.
Our classes nurture creativity and encourage exploration with
the use of paints, clay, plaster, colored pencils, charcoal,
chalk, paper, canvas, recycled items, wood, glue and much more.
Classes for 2-3 year olds are one hour long. Classes for 4
to 10 year olds are one and a half hours long. Both classes
are offered once a week for seven week sessions. There will
be something new (or rather old) discussed at each class. All
projects are age appropriate for each class. Not only are we
providing a foundation for Art appreciation we are providing
fun.
After each class, kids will go home with:
- A Project
- Information on concepts, artists,and colors they learned
about
- More self-cofidence
